This Privacy Policy describes how MD Flow ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the MD Flow application and the website at markdownfinder.app.

#Summary

  • The MD Flow app is local-first. Your files stay on your device.
  • The website uses analytics and advertising cookies to understand traffic and measure marketing performance. You control these through the cookie banner.
  • We use HubSpot to manage contact form submissions.
  • We do not sell personal information.

#1. Information the app collects

The MD Flow application operates locally on your device. It reads the folders you connect to it in order to display file names and render Markdown previews. Your file contents are not uploaded to our servers.

The app may collect anonymous diagnostic data (crash reports, basic performance metrics) through Apple's standard developer tools, only if you have opted in to share analytics with app developers in your device settings.

#2. Information the website collects

When you visit markdownfinder.app, we and our third-party providers may collect:

  • Standard server logs: IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamp, pages visited.
  • Analytics data: via Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager.
  • Advertising and conversion data: via Google Ads, Meta (Facebook) Ads, and LinkedIn Ads pixels, loaded through Google Tag Manager, when you have consented.
  • Form submissions: email address and any optional notes you submit through our contact form, processed by HubSpot.

#3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

  • Strictly necessary purposes (site functionality, remembering your cookie preferences).
  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4) to understand how visitors use the site.
  • Advertising (Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag) to measure campaign performance and attribute conversions.

When you first visit the site you are presented with a cookie banner. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you accept. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing site data or using the banner when it is re-presented.

We implement Google Consent Mode v2 so that tags loaded through Google Tag Manager respect your choice.

#4. HubSpot

We use HubSpot as our CRM and email provider. Information you submit through our contact form (typically your email address) is stored in HubSpot so we can respond and send you any updates you have requested.

HubSpot's own privacy practices are described at https://legal.hubspot.com/privacy-policy.

#5. Google, Meta, and LinkedIn

When you consent to advertising cookies, tags for Google Ads, Meta, and LinkedIn may be loaded on the site to measure conversions and attribute traffic from their platforms. These services may process data under their own privacy policies:

#6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EEA, UK, California, and other jurisdictions with comparable laws), you may have rights to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Object to or restrict processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, email info@markdownfinder.app.

#7. Data retention

We retain contact form submissions until you ask us to remove them. We retain website analytics in aggregate form for up to 26 months.

#8. Children

MD Flow is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

#9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
